Q: Are we not men? A: guitars are dead! That’s right folks, according to the latest poll from the Pew Research Center, the Chuck Berry good ol’ days of guitar rippin’ are dead! With the current upstream rise of popular new bands like GRIMES, Kraftwerk, NIN, and LCD Soundsystem, pollsters are patting each other on their proverbial backs. I never thought I’d be around to see “the day the [guitar] music died.” Jon Carhen from Pew had these words to say:
Pearl Jam, Nirvana, and the like are taking the back burner to new electronic based outfits these days. Bands like current Chemical Brothers are using computers, Fruity Loops, and other sequencers to make a brand new breed of soundscapes never before seen by the mainstream classical audience. This has taken college campuses and beatnik coffee houses alike by storm. The day of Joe Satriani are dead, bring on the keyboard wizards!
At SWG headquarters, we’re left shaking our heads and scratching our noses. What do you, THE PEOPLE, have to say about this? Shocked? Relieved? SOUND OFF BELOW!!by
