Lunch is maybe the second meal of the day for most of us.  If you’re in Manhattan and it’s lunch time, chances are you’re eating good old Mickey D’s. Take a step through those golden arches and you’ll be ba-da ba-ba-ba Lovin’ It.   But with all the McD options in Manhattan it’s hard to choose the restaurant best suited for you and yours.  I’ve done the dirty work and mapped out the 5 best Mickey D’s within 5 blocks of Midtown Manhattan and calculated their strategic pros/cons as well as some of their tastiest and most secret dishes.

1) 6th Ave between 36th and 35th

Nestled in the heart of Midtown Manhattan this Mickey D’s boasts 2 spacious floors with plenty of table tops for eating by yourself or with a group. While grazing, gaze upon the numerous shops and bodegas on scenic 6th ave.

Pro Tip: Ask for the “6th Ave: Avenue of the Americas Special Fries” to receive ‘Red White and Blue Freedom Fries’ this is the ONLY location which serves them.

2) Macy’s 7th Floor Kids Section

Tucked away in the kids section of Macy’s 7th floor Herald Sq. store is this little gem of a sandwich shoppe. This is the perfect spot to kick up your feet and take a load off after exploring the many items Macy’s flagship Herald Sq. location has to offer.

Pro Tip: Don’t forget, kids eat free with every purchase of a Mickey D’s Child Leash at this location, perfect for exploring all the offerings Macy’s Flagship store has to offer to its customers.

3) 7th Ave between 34th and 33rd

In addition to being located across from NY Penn Station this Mickey D’s is also the smallest in the country. Its dimensions are barely larger than a cozy solitary confinement cell in New York’s scenic Rikers Island (SVU fans may now rejoice).

Pro Tip: To celebrate this restaurants tiny footprint order the “X-Tra Small Meal” featuring doll sized portions, it’s sure to WOW any visiting guests and family.

4) Penn Station Lower Level
Located deep within bowels of New York’s Penn Station is this quaint Mickey D’s location, just around the corner from the Long Island Rail Road waiting area (I like to refer to it as ‘purgatory’). Boasting a 12foot long table top for eating while standing, this location makes it easy to come, eat, and run to your train once it begins boarding.

Pro Tip: To celebrate the history of the locomotive the ‘McNugget Train’ can be purchased and then assembled using the restaurants house made McNuggets. Must have for the little train conductor in your life.

5) 8th Ave between 34th and 35th

Located only a couple blocks from Madison Square Garden this location features a recently renovated interior appeals to the busy business man looking for a comfy cafe to calm chakras. Feel free to grab a cafe au lait and just hangout while you enjoy the complimentary wifi.

Pro Tip: This location is the ONLY one to offer the experimental “Figure Eight Burger” which can only be purchased once a year on the 8th day of the 8th month (August) from 8am-8:59am and again from 8pm-8:59pm, show up early (or late) if you want one before they sell out!
