Skateboarders Swear by These Exercises That Could Take Years Off Your Life!

 

Top pro boarders Tony Hawk and Nyjah Huston are among the top competitors in the post X-Games world.  What do they do to stay in shape physically and mentally, and what does that translate into for real world people in today’s world?  Exercise enthusiasts both young and old can learn from their expertise.  Our reporter Phlange P. Stillwatter sat down with some real skateboarders to get to the bottom of the exercise routines that best suit a wide audience:

Phlange – Hi guys, thanks for sitting down with us today.  So we’re talking physical fitness, real world exercises, things you can do “movement wise” to keep slim, keep fit, keep nimble.  What do some young boarders like you guys have to say about that?  What can you give me to tell others like myself who want to stay fit?

Boarders – Thanks for having us, we really want to help spread the gospel of fitness and flexibility; these are the key components to good boarding and also staying of sound mind.  The first thing you want to do is get some good ham string stretches going on, this will prepare you for the rest of the routine.

Phlange – Great, a ham string stretch is definitely approachable for a newcomer.  What else do you have for us?

Boarders – Definitely want to get kickflips down before attempting any higher ollies and other spin moves that you’d do on a board – sex change, 180 air, toasted olive, dolphin flop, things like that.  You want to have good knee stretches down.  We usually like to get 10 minutes of stretching in before a session.

Phlange – Thanks so much sons for coming out and talking with us today.  There’s a lot of good advice that I’ll pass along to my editor and publish for the folks at home to really dig into.  This has been illuminating.
